Give a workshop
We still have a lot of free spaces to fill up the program for Ecotopia Turkiye. As you know, the workshop venue depends on your initiatives. So, if you know of any local or international environmental struggles, energy related issues, or topics around activism (Please check: general info) this is the moment to be inspired and come up with a small workshop or discussion for Ecotopia. Remember, you do not have to be an expert on the topic. Workshops at Ecotopia range from hands on learning to informal exchanges, or in general an opportunity to share experience and knowledge with people who have similar concerns on environmental issues. Also, remember that we all contribute to the evening program, if you have documentaries, films, music instruments, etc., bring it along!
Ecotopia is a place where you are able to learn about environmental struggles throughout Europe and the World. Moreover, the skills and knowledge shared and connections made at ecotopia can be taken home, where it can benefit the local scene and expand a growing international network of environmental activists. So, this is a great opportunity to share what we know.
So, if you like, give a workshop or discussion and share it with us!
Give a workshop, plant a seed, help Ecotopia grow!
Come to help at the Ecotopia Turkey Prep Camp!
We need individuals willing to utilize their inventive aptitudes, and learn new ones to offer us some assistance with preparing the Ecotopia campground.
You might have heard that Ecotopia will take place between 9-23 August in Turkey, close to a city Sinop at the Black Sea. The area is quite special, with sandy beaches, forests and wetlands. But it is also special because it is one of the three locations in Turkey planned for construction of nuclear power plants.
We are looking for people to help us build the camp. It is not necessary to have experience, just a willingness to help, gain practical skills and enjoy the time at the venue before hundreds of people arrive. It would be great to have couple of people with carpentry skills, experience with plumbing, first aid, knowledge of how to set up greywater systems, pedal or wind power energy systems, compost toilets, solar showers and camp kitchens. And a couple of people to cook vegan food!
As this is the preparation period of the camp, facilities will initially be quite basic until we build more. However, vegan food will be provided for the duration of the prep camp.
We start on the 25th of July. If you are interested in helping, write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
